The House of Hope Atlanta was organized more than 142 years ago by a Sunday School and prayer meeting group. Today, The House of Hope Atlanta, located at 4650 Flat Shoals Parkway in Decatur, Ga., is ministering to five generations under the leadership of our senior pastor/teacher Dr. E. Dewey Smith, Jr. As The House of Hope Atlanta, we welcome those in metro Atlanta and beyond to join us as we worship God, share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others and execute the business of the Kingdom with excellence.
Dr. E. Dewey Smith is the Senior Pastor/Teacher of The House of Hope Atlanta and The House of Hope Macon in Georgia – one church in two locations – with a membership roll of more than 15,000. A proud native of Macon, Ga., he has been a minister of the gospel for more than 25 years. He commenced his preaching ministry at age 17 and his pastoral ministry at age 19. God has highly favored Dr. Smith by allowing explosive growth and outreach to accompany his ministry. His first congregation in Macon, Ga., Beulahland, grew from 48 to over 3,000 people in 13 years. Since 2004 he has served as the Senior Pastor/Teacher of The House of Hope Atlanta and was blessed to expand his ministry with the launch of The House of Hope Macon in January 2015. The ministry will grow again with the launch of The House of Hope South Pointe in the summer of 2016.
